About Scott Correira

Scott Correira is the founder and principal owner of Play By Play Sports, LLC. A native of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Correira received his B.A. in Radio and Television from Shippensburg (PA) University. He received his MBA from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. Correira has over 30 years of successful sales and business experience, and over 25 years of excellence in the Sports Marketing Industry. He spent six years employed as a sales executive for AT&T in the Washington, D.C area and worked for collegiate sports marketing pioneer Host Communications at both the University of Virginia and the University of Notre Dame.

After spending six years with Host, Correira formed Play By Play Sports, LLC in 2002. Originally specializing in media production, corporate sponsorship sales, and corporate client representation, Play By Play Sports, LLC secured the exclusive multi-media marketing rights for the University of Notre Dame and formed Notre Dame Sports Properties in 2003.

Correira served as Notre Dame Sports Properties’ President from 2003-2018, and during that time, created and implemented the first university athletic department national corporate partner program, known as “Team Notre Dame”, grew profitability by over 500%, and established an impressive national corporate brand halo that included leading companies such as Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Bank of America, Cadillac, Xerox, Delta Airlines, and Comcast Xfinity, to name a few. Correira’s innovative and creative approach combined national Intellectual Property promotional and marketing rights, national traditional media (including inventory on Notre Dame football game telecasts on NBC), national social / digital media, comprehensive retail marketing and branding rights, consumer promotions, and unique VIP hospitality experiences for Corporate Partners with Notre Dame Athletics. In the process, Correira oversaw unprecedented growth in the Notre Dame Athletics corporate sponsorship and media business. He also worked in partnership with Notre Dame’s television media partner, NBC Sports, to help drive millions of dollars in national television advertising revenues in Notre Dame football telecasts.

Correira led PBP Sports’ expansion, which included partnerships with the Army-Navy Football Game (“America’s Game”), Atlantic Hockey Conference, Ball State University, University at Buffalo, Barclays Sports Media & Entertainment, Hockey East Conference, and ECAC Hockey Conference, as well as various corporate and collegiate sports marketing consulting activities.
